UPDATE: Winnipeg police say they’ve found a suspicious vehicle empty after it was seen along St. James Street on Tuesday afternoon. Police say they were notified of a female passenger of a silver Volkswagen Tiguan parked in a lot near Polo Park who may have been in distress. The force explains the search for the vehicle was aimed at ensuring the well-being of its occupants, and say they located the vehicle unoccupied eight hours later on Ross Ave between King Edward and Keewatin Streets, a ten-minute drive north of the alleged incident.

The WPS says the investigation has been turned over to the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 204-986-6219 or contact Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS) or through winnipegcrimestoppers.com. The SUV was described as having as a licence plate number either LFX 318 or HKF 122, & the driver was described as a white male with a bald or shaved head.
